National Signing Day, or what some refer to as the Christmas morning for college football fans. A day where adult men and women all around the country are hooked to their computer and TV screens hoping to get a glimpse of who the next Big Man on Campus is going to be. They say the word fan is derived from the word fanatic. A person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm. It’s this definition that causes middle-aged men to convince themselves on NSD that an unknown prospect from East Podunk, USA can be the sole person to get their team over the hump.
As National Signing Day approaches for Syracuse football fans, there are large questions still left unanswered. How big is the 2015 class going to be? Who’s enrolling early? Are there committed prospect we are in danger of losing? Are there prospects we don’t know about? Let’s take some time and have a holistic look at what SU football returns, and who they could gain come February 4, 2015. Here is Part One of our two-part National Signing Day Feature, chronicling returning players and position breakdowns for the Orange.
