It feels fitting that as we begin a new era for Syracuse University football in 2016, two of the incoming freshmen for the Orange will be putting their talents on display as we kick off the New Year. Both players will be participating in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, which will be streamed on ESPN3 at 5:30 p.m. Eastern on Friday.
The 10th Annual high school all-star game is taking place in Daytona Beach tonight, and Neal and Scott will be suiting up on the same side, so there’s a solid chance that Orange fans will get a preview of the future if the duo are on the field together at some point in the game. The rest of the roster spots on both sides are made up by a who’s who of class of 2016 recruits, with plenty of highly regarded pledges who are on their way to the likes of Texas A&M, Miami, USC, Florida State, Oregon, Notre Dame, and basically every other big-time program in America.
According to the Offense-Defense website, if you don’t have access to ESPN3 you should also be able to watch the streaming feed live on the All-American Bowl’s website, bowl.o-d.com.
Neal and Scott aren’t the only Syracuse pledges taking part in an All-Star game this weekend, by the way. Cornerback Monquavion Brinson, who recently had his offer reaffirmed by Dino Babers and the new staff, will be playing in the Florida vs. Georgia All-Star Game on Saturday. Brinson was also recently named All-State for Georgia’s Class AAAAA after a stellar season at Mays High. It’s unclear yet if the Florida vs. Georgia game will be streamed either live or as a replay anywhere, though it should be noted it was streamed at least in 2014 on FOXSportsFlorida.com, so there’s a chance it’ll be broadcast there again this year – though right now, there’s no indication on the website.
