With Robert Washington’s decision date looming in just over three weeks, the highly sought after running back tweeted out the sixth and final school that will be among those he’s choosing from on April 25. The final school? The University of Florida.

For those keeping track at home, that means the final six, in no particular order, looks like this: Syracuse University, North Carolina, TCU, Alabama, Michigan, and Florida. Now, we play the waiting game and see how things shake out.

Syracuse continues to be in a good position with Washington, though obviously we’d feel a little more comfortable if the University and the football staff would make it official and offer him the legendary number 44. That could very well influence his decision, and help the Orange land one of the most prized recruits in the country.

There are obviously other facts that work in Syracuse’s favor, as well. His younger sister, for example, is being recruited by Syracuse to run track, and seems to be high on the Orange. His cousin, Aapri, is another highly coveted football prospect who has serious interest in the Orange, as does his teammate and classmate, Will Eason.

Landing Washington would be a massive coup for head coach Scott Shafer and the Orange coaching staff. It would send a very real message that Syracuse is headed in the right direction.

One thing that could potentially give Syracuse fans some reason for worry, with regard to a school like Florida, however: Washington has indicated in the past on Twitter that he might like to play with his good friend and top quarterback recruit, Dwayne Haskins, who also recently said that Florida was one of two schools really standing out for him.

But we have to stay positive and hope that Syracuse can land young Mr. Washington. The impact of a commitment from the 4-star running back could potentially be monumental, starting a domino effect among other recruits the Orange are currently pursuing.
