If you had plans to watch the Syracuse University basketball team take on Virginia in Charlottesville on Saturday, I’ve got some bad news. You might actually need to spend time with your family, or I don’t know, go outside and make some snow angels, or something. I’m sure you’ll figure it out. In any event, the game has been rescheduled to Sunday night.
The game was originally slated to be played at noon Eastern on Saturday, but will now be played at 7:00 p.m. Eastern and broadcast on ESPN2. Virginia’s about to get hammered with a snowstorm, and there’d been a lot of worry about not just Syracuse being able to make it there safely, but fans, officials, and the game day administration being safe and sound on Saturday as well.
The No. 13-ranked Cavaliers were also supposed to play Wake Forest on Monday night, but that’s obviously been moved as well. Those two teams will now play on Tuesday night. The Hoos are currently 14-4 overall, but three of those losses have come in the last five games (against Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and Florida State).
Virginia’s had Syracuse’s number since the Orange joined the ACC. The last two games have gone in favor of the Hoos, with UVA winning 59-47 in the Dome last year, and 75-56 in Charlottesville the year before.
